Has East Hampton Town been transparent about the work being proposed on the Montauk Sewage Treatment Plant?

NO! Aside from the FAQ’s on the towns website the town has not released any of its data regarding the Sewage Treatment Plant. All the data we have obtained has been through FOIL requests and our own investigations. The town refuses to release the transcripts of its Wastewater Committee meetings nor any other information the public would need to make educated decisions regarding the STP.

In fact on Feb 16, the Town Supervisor readily admits to Tom Gogola of the East Hampton Star, “The public is not really aware of the work that’s been done to date”.  That’s the Town Supervisor admitting that he has not been informing the residents of East Hampton the status and plans of the STP.
